A child’s growth and hormonal development are an integral part of pediatric health monitoring. The Pediatric Endocrinology specialist is trained to assess and guide issues related to growth, early or delayed puberty, thyroid function disorders, diabetes, and other hormonal dysfunctions.
Dr. Filipa Pignatelli
Pediatric Assistant Consultant since 2015 and head of the Pediatric Endocrine Unit at the Local Health Unit of Matosinhos. She has a special focus on type 1 diabetes in children and has led the implementation of new technologies for its treatment.
Author of numerous scientific articles and invited speaker at pediatric endocrinology courses and conferences. Actively involved in educational projects for young people with diabetes and their families, she is a member of several national scientific societies and has held leadership positions in the Portuguese Society of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetology.
